The events around this true crime tragedy shocked a city, state, and country. The evidence trail led Queensland Police through three Australian states to eventually catch the killer. The subsequent killer's confession, committal hearing, Supreme Court Trial, and Kopit's incarceration are part of Queensland history. A look into the life and times of the killer; the victims and their families; the Police; the Queensland Rail Employees; the legal teams; and Australian society through the blog, podcast and gallery - allow us to journey back to a time to another era when justice and policework did not have benefits of modern-day technology.

My uncle always said we had a murderer in the family. Sadly, I ignored him and years after the deaths of anyone who could tell me the story, I finally decided to research my family tree.
And there it was - my cousin, once removed was a double murderer -
Herbert Kopit.
I am using a pen name to protect some relatives who are still living and may not be as happy to share their relationship to our cousin. My intent is to produce a book of some type (e-book, self-published paperback) about the times and the crime. Please share your feedback about the true crime story which here is in blog, podcast and gallery and how I present it to assist me to decide whether to publish or not.
